Gang member not guilty: "member of the Hells Angels was found not guilty of assault Monday on a charge laid after two police officers said he kicked another man in a police cell.
Jesse Leigh Bitz, 38, was charged last
December in relation to an incident Aug. 30, 2009, after he was arrested for public intoxication.
His lawyer, Morris Bodnar, suggested the charge was laid four months after the minor incident because Bitz was scheduled to appear in court a few days later on a case in which he was challenging on constitutional grounds Saskatchewan legislation against wearing gang colours in bars.
'Were the charges laid to prejudice Mr. Bitz in that matter?' Bodnar asked Const. Bryon Sommacal."
