Brawl involving rival motorcycle groups led to a shooting that left two men dead at a Sunnyslope convenience store, according to police who released the victims' names Thursday. Investigators described the unidentified groups as gangs, although others suggested they were unlike outlaw groups commonly tied to biker violence.
Some police described the groups as substance-free organizations purportedly geared toward recovering addicts looking to ride with other sober motorcycle enthusiasts. John Lindenman, 43, and Bradley Lutzo, 45, suffered fatal gunshot wounds during an 11 p.m. brawl in a QuikTrip parking lot on Tuesday. No arrests have been made, and the deaths are under investigation, according to police.
Neither Lindenman or Lutzo had criminal records in Arizona.Phoenix Detective Cindy Scott said the department will not release the names of the groups, citing its policy on withholding the identifications of documented criminal street gangs.

I agree with your frustration at this mesrepresentation. I was at one time associated with the same group that John was a very prominent member of and it is in no way a gang. He is one of the best people that I have ever known and my feelings of sadness for his family and his wife are indescribeable. His murder was senseless and ridiculous. The people who did this have no idea what they took away. I am so sorry for your loss.

I didn't know John but I did know Brad. Brad lived and breathed recovery 24 / 7. He was a non violent caring person with a fiery personality. My partner in life is Brad's ex brother in law. We have been to backyard cookouts and family reunions with Brad. We know what a good man he was and deeply regret that we didn't get to emphasize how much we appreciate him. The person or persons who pulled the trigger have no idea how far reaching the pain and devastation has reached. You have put a slash in our souls. And you, the media have put salt in our wounds.
Rest in Peace Brothers, I hope you are riding free somewhere.

John was a wonderful man, and a great mentor to people in recovery. He and his wonderful wife are the most loving, caring, honorable people I know. To speak unkindly of him is simply uncalled for. When did riding with your brothers and celebrating recovery become so violent. At what point do adult men stop being able to work out their differences without resorting to this kind of violence. Shame on the people that made the chioce to take these lives. My your families never have to feel the pain that these two families are feeling now. Rest in peace John & Brad, knowing that you made such a wonderful impact on those who called you friend.

You are not worth this time I have spent, but I owe it to John as my nephew, my friend, and what he was to my 3 Sons, that loved their cousin dearly as he was like a uncle to them, this has hurt them deeply. I know the pain of losing someone so dear to you, your world is crushed and will never be the same. John was a great comfort to me when I lost my oldest son at 21 in 2003. Maybe your heart is to cold and negative to understand that. But again if you are such an insider, solve his murder, we would be eternally grateful.
